Wattle Creek Winery

Christopher and Kristine Williams were busy raising their family in Arizona when they received a call from a Sonoma County friend that would change their lives. A rare opportunity to purchase an Alexander Valley vineyard had presented itself and the Williams quickly boarded a plane to California in 1994 to view the property. They were captivated with the beauty of the area and the special nature of the hillside property which is bordered by the famed Russian River. Within a day they made the decision to purchase the magical 56 acres that later became Wattle Creek Winery. Family and dogs in tow, they relocated permanently to California in 2001 and dedicated themselves to making wine that they and their friends would enjoy. We're proud to produce wines that are almost exclusively Estate grown. You may not hear this term often, because many wineries purchase their grapes or their juice from outside the winery. Estate grown means that we have ultimate control over the quality and consistency of the wines which are made from our Alexander Valley and Yorkville Highlands vineyards. Chris and Kristine decide at harvest if the quality of a particular varietal is up to Wattle Creek standards. and if it's not. well, it doesn't go into a Wattle Creek bottle. It goes to the market to be sold to the other guys. Wattle Creek wines reflect the best and brightest of our vineyards. That's the only way we can guarantee to our customers and club members that they will receive the quality they've come to expect from Wattle Creek. Year in and year out. The Wattle Creek tasting room is located in San Francisco's historic Ghirardelli Square and is open seven days a week. We are open Monday through Saturday 11:00am-9:00pm Sunday 11:00am-7:00pm
