In its first years of existence, Umberto Cesari set itself a challenge and a dream: to produce the highest quality Sangiovese possible. This has been our goal, our mission since 1967. The accolades that we have received over more than 40 years of winemaking have nourished the conviction that the path we chose was indeed the correct one. Today more than ever we focus all of our resources on bringing that dream into being and to meeting that challenge. Specific values have guided us along that path, the same ones that still determine what we do every day: - Respect for our environment. Our wines are born of the earth, and the chemical and physical qualities of that earth have a significant effect on the quality and character of the wine. For this reason, our winery is extremely careful to preserve the ecology in which we work. - Promotion of our local area. We deeply believe in the quality potential of our local area, and we have labored for more than 40 years to develop that potential and to encourage in Italy and throughout the world a better appreciation of our local winemaking culture and of the wines classic to our area. - Respect for the consumer. Relentless quality analyses of our wines and our total direct control over every step of our wine production enable us to personally guarantee to the consumer the absolute quality of our wines. - Investment in our human resources. We deeply believe that a business’ real dynamism springs from development of its own human capital and from investment in its own future generations. - Technological innovation with respect for tradition. We believe in innovation, but it must never compromise valid winemaking traditions; we thus invest in new technologies that complement our local traditions. - Passion for our work. Without passion, nothing makes sense. Passion in fact gave birth to our winery, Umberto Cesari’s passion for Sangiovese. Passion gives value to our daily life, passion has guided our steps right up to today, and we are determined that that same passion guide us into the future.
