First published in 1920, George Saintsbury’s “Notes on a Cellar-Book” has inspired many to experiment widely and to form opinions unaffected by the fashion of the day. Included in those ranks are Mr. Ward and Mr. Graves, who named their winery in honor of Professor Saintsbury.

- Saintsbury Brown Ranch Chardonnay 2006 Carneros (75cl)
Brown Ranch is the top wine of Dick Ward from Saintsbury, we buy and import his wines ourselves and believe them to be some of the best in the whole of the US of A. Showing a crisp acidity and a burgundy-like minerality, the wine expresses apple, pear and citrus flavours. Having spent seven months in French oak barrels, the wine is then racked to stainless steel tanks along with the fine lees for a further six months, further enhancing the terroir-driven minerality of the Brown Ranch site.
