Mount Cass is a family owned boutique vineyard producing outstanding handcrafted wines in the heart of the Waipara Valley, North Canterbury, New Zealand. The Mount Cass Vineyard takes its name from the prominent landmark of Mt. Cass that rises to over 500 metres above sea level. Mt. Cass provides maximum protection from the Pacific Ocean's easterly breezes, for the vineyards are tucked under the lee of this landmark. The smooth stones and gravels left behind by an ice glacier provide free drainage and heat summation for the vines.
