At Marqués de Irún our Commitment is to clearly define the differential elements of the two denominations od origin, with special reference to the quality of autoctonous grape varieties, Verdejo (Rueda) and Tinta de Toro (Toro), their climatology and the individual characteristics of their terroir, which gave the wines their own personality and character. The D.O. Rueda is especially renowned for the quality of it's white wines. The land to the Southwest of Valladolid has extreme temperatures, and the soil is stony and chalky, favouring the perfect ripening of one grape variety, the Verdejo, with singular caracteristics. The D.O. Toro, in the province of Zamora, has undergone a spectacular evolution over the last decade, making area a leading protagonist in national and international wine critics' circles.
