Kooyong

The Kooyong vineyard and winery are located at Tuerong on the northern end of the Mornington Peninsula, 80km south of Melbourne,Victoria, Australia. In 1995, Kooyong was established on a gently undulating 93 hectare property neighbouring Devilbend Reserve, home to many native water birds. The Kooyong name means 'where the wild fowl gather'. The vineyard and winery are part of the Gjergja family domain which also includes Port Phillip Estate. Kooyong is planted to 30 hectares of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris vineyards, all north facing to maximise their exposure to the sun. There are five distinct vineyards of which three are planted to Pinot Noir, two predominantly to Chardonnay, and a small section of Pinot Gris. A small amount of Viognier is also planted on the property.
