Greenock Creek

my restaurant has been selling 3 of this estate's wines in the 5 year's i've worked there. the 1998 '7 acre shiraz' was always one of the big hits of our list and i got my hands (or tongue) on one of the last bottles before the vintage changed. i was bowled over by the sheer purity of fruit and the length of the flavour on the palate, and most particularity by the elegance of the wine - whilst unmistakably 'new world' its fruit was never cloying and its oak was perfectly integrated. the 'alices shiraz' and estate 'cab sav' are from 'lesser' parcels but exhibit the same clarity and pungency as their super-cuvee cousin, from tasting these over the '98-'00 vintages i feel safe recommending the estate as a whole to readers. enjoy!
