In the early 1830's the pioneering Dr. Henry Lindeman(Lindman's Wines) planted his Cawarra vineyards in the Gresford area. During the 19th century the district was renowned for the quality and quantity of its agricultural and horticultural produce, especially for its wines. Now, over 170 years later, winemaking is making a resurgence here and Glendonbrook's vision is to revitalise what is the oldest wine growing region in the Hunter Valley. Seven kilometres north east of East Gresford on the Bingleburra Road is the beautiful 1500 acre property Bingleburra. In 1998 a 30 acre vineyard was planted to Shiraz, Chambourcin, and Verdelho vines, with the first grapes lovingly hand-picked in the 2001 vintage. After seven vintages the quality of the grapes is now showing maturity adding to the longevity of our wines.
