Forth Vineyards

Forth Vineyards, nestled in the hills above the stunningly beautiful Dry Creek Valley in northern Sonoma County wine country, provides guests a unique opportunity to experience the heart and soul of the wine country. Our vines are grown on ten acres of sunwashed, rolling hills on our ranch in the Dry Creek Valley. Six acres of Cabernet vines are divided into three main blocks bearing the names of our three children--Rebecca, Joshua and Benjamin. Like our children, each block of Cabernet is unique unto itself. The fruit from each vineyard is harvested and often fermented and barreled separately, providing us with extraordinary components for creating the final blend. Year after year the vineyard around us celebrates the timeless cycle of life . . . the glories of the harvest, the silent mysteries of dormancy, the wonder of regeneration. Each day we observe and participate in this life . . . carefully watching, nurturing, guiding, waiting . . . all in the patient search for balance, in the quiet hope of perfection. Every wine is an expression. It is at the same time tangible and palpable, ephemeral and evanescent. It is the expression of the fruit itself, of the land on which it is grown and the conditions of each growing season. It is also the expression of our philosophy. A philosophy of balance that compels us to sacrifice thousands of valuable clusters each summer to preserve the deep concentration of flavor and rich ripeness in the fruit of each vine. A philosophy of patience that causes us to nurture the wine in barrels for years to achieve just the right nuance and depth of character. Perhaps most of all, it is the expression of passion. A quiet, determined passion that drives us in careful winter pruning to “teach” the vines how to give their best. A caring passion that guides the way we tend the wines as they ferment and mature. And a joyful passion that makes the experience of winemaking a blessing to the soul. Tasting Room Reservations for tours and/or tasting appointments required.
