The finish is a hedonistic exhibition of more pure vanilla and long toasted walnuts and pecans, always backed by good acid. After a few seconds, the wine comes full circle with caramelized apples and a zip of nutmeg.

Mersault Goutte d'Or at Domine Coche-Bizouard

This is a very moody picture from the wine cellar of Doamine Coche-Bizouard (Fabien Coche) in Meursault. The photo shows some old (well fairly old) dusty bottles of Mersault Goutte d'Or premier cru 1997. Not bad at all that wine!
