• Gewurztraminer 2007 Cave de Turckheim (75cl)

  In 1955, 180 vinegrowers running 109 hectares joined together to form the Cave de Turckheim. These producers all had strengths and weaknesses and needed a structure and common policy without losing the personality of each member. Aromatic and dry, this Gewurztraminer shows white blossom and rose on the nose, followed by plenty of spice and hints of honey. Rich and well balanced with a dry finish. It makes an excellent partner to spicy Asian food and the classic Alsatian Munster cheese.

  Within France, Alsace is where Pinot Gris is most revered. One of the noble varieties it provides rich, usually dry wines that can be partnered with food without the distraction of too much aroma. In Alsace the synonym Tokay d'Alsace is often used. This wine has a lovely aromatic and flowery nose. The palate is rich and well-balanced showing peaches, apricots and white blossom. With a dry, fresh finish, this wine will partner a range of foods, particularly smoked fish and meats as well as salads.

• Pinot Noir 2007 Cave de Turckheim (75cl)

  Turckheim is a small village just a bus ride away from Colmar, in the Vouges mountains, in the department Haut Rhine. The vines grow on very steep granitic vineyard sites. An elegant raspberry-coloured Pinot Noir. An enticing nose of red berry fruits, particularly cherry, which follow through to the fresh, elegant palate and a dry finish. Enjoy on its own or with light salads or fish dishes, this wine can also be enjoyed chilled.
