| mondosapore: Good day for Amarone: Viviani in snowy New York Sharp, lively nose at the outset, promising good acidity for a hot-year wine. Lovely cherry color and flavor. It opened up quickly in the glass, with a subtle perfume of roses. The excellent polenta helped put the acidity into balance -- great pairing. Amarone Casa dei Bepi 2001. Not a strong nose, subtle, still tannic. Well-bred, BCBG (bon chic, bon genre). A little cocoanut at the finish. Might give it a few more years. Amarone Casa dei Bepi 1997 and 1995 ... |
