In the beginning Vina San Pedro helped pioneer an industry that put Chile on the map. Later San Pedro helped drive innovation and the search for unique styles and quality terroirs from the extreme north in the Elqui Valley to the deep south of the Bio Bio Valley. In more recent years San Pedro helped establish Chile as a strong, diverse New World producer well-known for over-delivering across a range of price points. In 2008 San Pedro, a wine group with various labels in its portfolio, merged with Viña Tarapaca / Southern Wine Group to form Viña San Pedro Tarapacá Wine Group or VSPT Wine Group. Today VSPT Wine Group is the third largest wine group in Chile, and the second exporter of Chilean wine. The wines of San Pedro are enjoyed each and every day by wine-lovers in more than 80 countries all around the world. Labels include: Cabo de Hornos, 1865 Single Vineyard, Castillo de Molina, 35° South and Gato Negro. San Pedro’s global brands enjoy vibrant success in the most competitive markets, due to the variety, quality and consistency of its wines and distributor partnerships that both stem from an understanding of the wine trade 150 years in the making.
Wines from Bodegas San Pedro Winery
- 2007 Vallobera, Bodegas San Pedro, Rioja Bianco
With their covetable vineyards in Rioja's Alavesa and recently-refurbished winery, ambitious Javier San Pedro, brother Carlos and brother-in-law Jesus Navoscués are establishing a reputation for making modern wines of the highest calibre. Vallobera is their highest vineyard, where slow ripening accentuates fruit intensity. Made from Viura, the classic grape of white Rioja, this crisp, concentrated, elegant style has fresh lime flavour with hints of tropical fruit richness. Excels
