Bodega Del Fin Del Mundo

"To conquer part of the patagonic desert and convert it into a new grape-producing region was a challenge which started in 1996. The lands that were chosen for this project are located in San Patricio del Chanar, province of Neuquen, and at that time they were considered marginal as they didn't have access to the irrigation zone of Neuquen River. As a first step, it was necessary to make a big effort and build a proper channel of 20 km long to provide the necessary water for the growing of grapes. Finally, in 1999 the first vineyards were planted. Strong winds forced the engineers to protect the vineyards with windbreak screens and each plant with individual shells. The excellent outcomes of these first plantations constituted the initial step of Bodega del Fin del Mundo and of the whole vine growing region that would develop in San Patricio del Chanar.
