Comments: One of best red wines from italy, even though it is only a DOC. It proves itself by carrying out those fruity flavors from the sangiovese grape.

Comments: Approachable, but i like a Chianti, with a bit more body and acidity

Comments: One of my favorites so far. Bursting with a slightly sweet fruity flavor, just a hint of spicyness, low acidity and a smooth finish.

Comments: Exceptionally smooth, cherry on the nose, cherries, red currents, light oaky vanilla notes. Great with food! Castello Banfi almost always produces very nice drinkable wines.

Comments: Needs several hours to settle down before its enjoyable. Overall still a decent Rosso. $15 BM

Comments: The 2003 Rosso di Montalcino is a plump, juicy effort that offers sweet jammy fruit, licorice and mineral flavors on a medium bodied frame of modest complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2008.
