Comments: WA 89 WS 88 - David Schildknecht Wine Advocate 89 Points Precise expression of red fruit flavors, lift, and refreshment are usually part and parcel of this appellation's charm chez Drouhin, and the 2006 Chorey-les-Beaune delivers those virtues in abundance, while offering an at once soothing and invigorating combination of subtle creaminess with the chew of fruit skin. Chalky, saline, and herbal notes deliver some complexity in an admirably persistent finish. There are 5,000 cases of this outstanding value and ambassador for Burgundy, and while it is probably most enjoyable if drunk over the next couple of years, it will not fall off of any close at hand cliff. Wine Spectator 88 Points Light-weight, with pure cherry, berry and spice notes. Balanced and fruity, with a beam of cherry on the finish. There's just a hint of tannins. A fine introduction to the region and vintage. Comments: 'A very pleasant wine. Bright, clear red colour. Aromas are surprising in their intensity and fruit. On the palate, a tender, supple, graceful, round body. Very flavourful in the aftertaste, with a hint of blackberry jam. When the wine gets older, wild blackberry is the dominant aroma. After 3 or 5 years, the wine takes on a distinctive smell of truffle and undergrowth evolving towards notes of venison'.

Enjoy the cherry, nut, and cinnamon aromas in this medium-bodied wine—made in Burgundy from Pinot Noir by one of the most reliable négociants(the French term for wine shipper and blender). The flavors of red fruit compote are strong, but the wine itself is dry, with a great, silky mouthfeel and soft tannins.
