La Casona del Peregrino in Selores

In the heart of the Natural Saja-Besaya in VALLEY CABURNIGA Casona is our seventeenth-century palace.THE PILGRIMS CASONA has been selected by their characteristics, for several consecutive years, to join the CLUB QUALITY OF INFINITE CANTABRIA. And recommended by the Michelin Guide 2007, 2008 and 2009.It was a family of Indians who ordered the construction. Among their tasks was to lodge the pilgrims going to Santiago de Compostela in Spain and elsewhere. Hence its name.It was a log book in which each of these tenants who slept there, he wrote his name, origin and destination of their journey and one anecdote about his pilgrimage. At the end wrote a prayer to the Lord of the house and his family to thank them they had given shelter and food. Obviously, and unfortunately that book was lost and now there is a second book on Casona, available to our customers, to return three years later, a custom so special: THE BOOK OF PEREGRINE.In 1997 the Pilgrim Casona reopened its doors after a complete restoration, combining materials similar to those that had originally with the latest amenities.
