Hotel Rural Cortijo Barranco in Arcos

At the crossroads of history and old legends rises the white and magnificent Arcos de la Frontera, declared a National Historic Landmark and a piece of artwork in itself. Just a few kilometres from this village lays the Finca Barranco, a charming holiday complex that combines the beauty of the mountains with the rolling farm lands and olive trees groves. One of the best assets of the Finca Barranco is the country estate Molino Nuestra Seora de la Luz, a traditional Andalucian farm which dates back to 1754 and served as an olive oil mill. In what was once the old mill and today is a restaurant, weary travellers will be able to enjoy the most delicious dishes of traditional Mediterranean cuisine, prepared with products grown on the premises. This building complex adds a number of rooms and adjacent houses to the farm, some attached to the main building. The others are scattered around the complex and were once used as lodging for the mill workers. Both the rooms and the independent houses have been restored and redecorated in a charming and traditional style.The gentle climate of the Sierra in Cdiz, with average temperatures near 20C, is ideal for activities like hiking, outdoor photography, horseback riding, mountain biking, swimming, hunting, water sports, golf and many more. Guests can enjoy such activities and commune with nature throughout the year.The tranquillity and beauty of the landscape guarantee an unforgettable stay, far from the stress and distractions of the cities. The Saloon is equipped with billiards, and in winter and fall, when the temperatures are a little lower, the clients can sit closed to the fire place and enjoy a glass of wine watching the flames consuming the wood.This room is decorated with some very beautiful artefacts of the past and it is a pleasure to gaze at all the different things.A mini - bar and television are at our visitors disposition in this saloon. The meeting room is equipped with television and video and can be leased by groups and enterprises. The capacity is 35 persons. The entrance of the Finca Barranco is located on the left side of the Arcos-El Bosque (A-372) road at the kilometric point 5,7 .The entrance is found soon after the two lane road expands to three lanes (the third being a slow traffic lane on your side)Please be careful when making your left turn into our driveway, as traffic may be coming from the opposite lane.We recommend stopping on the slow traffic lane in front of the entrance to yield oncoming and following traffic and crossing when your are able. Visibility will be no problem.Our hotel is located on an area denominated Los Barrancos at the end of a 2 kilometre private road, which is marked on the map below.This paved road is in good condition, though we recommend driving it slowly while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
