Villa Il Frantoio is a bed and breakfast in the Amalfi Coast, in the South of Italy, in the charming village of Vettica Maggiore is the recently restored historic Il Frantoio. The villa was once a working olive press for the local villagers and has been carefully restored to bring back the essence of a period long gone.The villa feature six rooms each with a special and unique character with private terraces overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean, picturesque Positano and legendary Capri. Homers famed isle of the Sirens (Sirenuse) also lies in what seems merely inches from your touch through your window. The architecture of the villa dates back to the 17th century and all of the romantic and dramatic details shine through today.The villas private and common-space terraces are characterized by dramatic high arches and the sleeping chambers have domed roofs in the authentic style of this region. The original stone wheel and press have been kept fully intact in our grand suite as a tasteful centrepiece. Although every effort to restore it original charm and elegance have been employed, there are all the modern conveniences one would expect in a world class bed and breakfast establishment.

In order to reach Praiano from Naples, use the Autostrada A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria. Exit the highway in Castellammare di Stabia, just after Pompeii. Drive towards Sorrento and then follow Positano. Praiano is the village immediately after Positano. Once reached Praiano village centre you need to drive towards San Luca church and park your car on via Costantinopoli Vettica Maggiore. Il Frantoio is located at 300 meters on via Francesco Russo n. 36, in a pedestrian area, not reachable by car. If you intend to get here by public transportation, having as base the train station of Naples, use the Circumvesuviana local train to Sorrento, or if your starting point is the airport of Naples then you could use either the Alibus to the train station and then the local train to Sorrento or the Curreri direct bus to Sorrento. Once youve reached Sorrento, you could get on the Sita bus and continue to Praiano.From the centre of the village of Praiano (Vettica Maggiore stop), you can walk up the flight of steps via Francesco Russo and reach the n. 36 (about 200 steps) or hop on the local bus Flavio Gioia and get off at the stop Muriciello and continue by foot to Via Francesco Russo (about 400 meters).
