By carFrom the motorway, after passing the barrier, follow the signs for Venice. After arriving in Venice, park your car in one of the Tronchetto parking areas (on the right, after the long Ponte della Libert) or Piazzale Roma, the car terminal. Take the ACTV line 2 boat for Giudecca and get off at the San Basilio landing station. The Locanda Avogaria is just 2 minutes from here. Continue on foot along Calle Del Vento (in front of the landing station), go through San Basegio square, follow the street, the second Calle on the right is Calle dellAvogaria. The Locanda Avogaria is at number 1629 of Calle dellAvogaria. By trainFrom Santa Lucia railway station: after exiting the station, take ACTV line 2 boat for Giudecca and get off at the San Basilio landing station. Continue on foot along Calle Del Vento (in front of the landing station), go through San Basegio square, follow the street, the second Calle on the right is Calle dellAvogaria. The Locanda Avogaria is at number 1629 of Calle dellAvogaria. By airplaneFrom Marco Polo Airport (13 km): The ATVO shuttle or the ACTV line 5 bus from the airport will take you to Piazzale Roma, the Venice car terminal. Then, take the ACTV line 2 boat for Giudecca and get off at the San Basilio landing station. The Locanda Avogaria is just 2 minutes from here. Continue on foot along Calle Del Vento (in front of the landing station), go through San Basegio square, follow the street, the second Calle on the right is Calle dellAvogaria. The Locanda Avogaria is at number 1629 of Calle dellAvogaria.From San Giuseppe Treviso Airport (30 km): take the EUROBUS-ATVO shuttle to Venice. After reaching Piazzale Roma, the Venice car terminal, continue as above.

I suppose it is all relative, closer than from here I suppose. Dorosoduro for sure.It seems there are several apartments near the salute which one was it? This is "my apartment" for May also in Dorsoduro Avogaria RR .... I think if I were to be in Venice for 10 (maybe even 7) days or more, I'd consider Castello.
