Hotel San Francesco is situated in a privileged position within the historic centre, right in front of the Basilica of Saint Francis. Its 600 metres away from the main square (Piazza del Comune) and only 800 from the Basilica of Saint Clare. The hotel was completely renewed in 1998 and has 44 sound proof bedrooms, all endowed with bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, radio, safe, direct dial telephone, minibar and hair-dryer. Some of the rooms overlook the world famous Basilica and the vast Umbrian plain, while others just the plain. The hotel has a lift and a panoramic terrace with a splendid view of the Basilica, the Sacred Convent, the plain and the hill side. There is also a restaurant and a bar strictly reserved for hotel guests.Guests can reach the hotel by car that can be left in the nearby parkings of Saint Francis (200 mts by Porta San Giacomo), San Pietro (300 mts) and Piazza Matteotti ( this last one with overnight garage service - 1 km). A hotel shuttle links all car parks of the city of Assisi.
